No, this isn’t a commentary on that Christmas song (apologies if it gets stuck in your head…). But holy cloud dandruff, Batman!
Can you believe it?
It semi-snowed here!
Here’s a picture of what it looked like outside my front window at about 8:30 am.
That’s why I said it was semi-snowing today. The snow melted the moment it hit concrete. And it warmed up a little more during the day, so even the white you see in this picture is all gone now.
Many, if not most, if not all, people here are appalled. But I’ve only had four months of winter in the past four years, so I was pretty much grinning to myself while I walked to work. (When she found out I enjoyed it, she promptly blamed me for it. It was funny.)
Speaking of, I started day one of my new job at a tax-and-accounting office. I didn’t realize how much work went into figuring out taxes! There’s a ton to learn and I feel very lost in there, but my employer is willing to train me. So I worked on putting stuff away in the filing cabinets, watched my employer fiddle with a client’s stuff on her computer, and worked on sorting-and-matching receipts and such with a company’s bank statements.
I’ve no idea how much I’ll enjoy this job, but in the meantime, there are pluses. My employer’s fun-loving and uses her smile often. It’s only a fifteen-minute walk from home. She’s willing to train someone who has no experience whatever in this area. And it’s full-time doing something besides tidying and selling mascaras. 😛
