At the time of this writing, I have not yet seen Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War (but I will in a turn of the clock and a bit!). I am really excited to see it and have heard from a friend I trust that it is good. And for once, I’m avoiding spoilers like the plague, even though there are videos and reviews I could always mine for information. (Impressive, right?)
I had gone the whole week with a nail polish design, but when half of the design representing Captain America chipped off before I’d even seen the movie, I re-did the polish job and even keyed it up a bit while I was at it.
It’s a fairly simple design, with my left hand representing Cap and my right representing Iron Man. When the thumbs are pressed together, it makes the half-shield-half-arc-reactor look that’s been advertised a good deal, just to enforce the look of a clash further.
polishes used:
white (Sally Hansen’s Insta-Dri OMGhost)
red (NYC’s Columbus Square)
dark blue (Hismet’s dark, sparkly blue (this was used as a first coat on the left thumb and ring finger to darken the look of the second-coat colour))
medium blue (NYC’s NY Blues (this was used as a second coat on the left thumb and ring finger))
light blue (Del Sol’s Superhero (used for the lines in the arc reactor) (note: Del Sol products change colour when exposed to UV rays; “Superhero” will turn pink when in the outdoors))
gold (Hismet’s sparkly gold (this was used as a first-layer accent on the right thumb and ring finger to darken the look of the second-layer colour))
yellow (Sally Hansen’s Hard as Nails Mellow Yellow (this was used as a second-layer accent on the right thumb and ring finger))
